Deeper down I say "You know what the problem with new videogames is? they're too genre-restrictive, too formulaic why not combine all possible genres into one big distributed player-driven content-gasm?" Etc.
That the current way is all too too fake, like a dollhouse filled with ants but trying to seem real, and it's simply repulsive to any artist respecting the subjectivity and free will of his audience. But criticism will not change that; only the artist can steer the medium. And he will only if he is encouraged to do so by those on whom the valuation of his work rests.
